Rinna Kullaa is an Associate Professor in the Department of History, Philosophy and Literary Studies at Tampere University's Faculty of Social Sciences. She holds a tenure-track professorship in Global History (on leave until September 2020). Her research focuses on global history, international relations, and the foreign policies of Nordic states, Russia, and the European Union, with a specialization in contemporary Mediterranean geopolitics and post-colonial transformations.
Key roles include serving as an Academy of Finland Research Fellow (2015-2020) and leading the Academy of Finland-funded NONHEGFP project (2019-2023). Her work examines the historical impacts of great-power politics, diplomatic history, and the evolution from colonialism to modern international systems.
