Tuomas Forsberg

Tuomas Forsberg is a Professor of International Relations at Tampere University since 2008 and served as Director of the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies from 2018 to 2023. He is affiliated with the Faculty of Management and Business and the Department of International Relations. His research focuses on European security, transatlantic relations, and the psychological dimensions of foreign policy.

Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Introduction to International Relations and War and Peace (in Finnish). He holds memberships in the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters, Nordic International Studies Association (NISA), and the Atlantic Council of Finland.

Key research interests include NATO enlargement, Russian foreign policy, and the historical context of international relations, particularly the 1990s. Recent publications analyze Finland's NATO path, Nordic security dynamics, and global implications of the Ukraine war. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical policy analysis, emphasizing the intersection of public opinion and strategic choices.
