Prof. Rina Knoeff is a Professor at the Faculty of Arts and affiliated with the Research Centre for Historical Studies (CHS) at the University of Groningen. She specializes in the history of medicine, particularly healthy ageing, the work of Herman Boerhaave, and anatomical collections. Her research integrates medical humanities and public health advocacy, exemplified by curating the 'Gelukkig Gezond!' exhibition and coordinating 'Concepts and Cultures of Health' at the Aletta Jacobs School for Public Health. She holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and has led NWO-funded projects on Boerhaave's vitalism and Leiden's anatomical collections. Awards include the Sarton Chair for History of Science (2024-25) and the Aspasia Fellowship (2012).
