Rick Swartz is an Associate Professor of English and Chair of the Department of English at the University of Southern Maine (USM), part of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. He has been at USM since 1991, previously teaching at Louisiana State University (LSU). His teaching focuses on upper-division courses such as English Romantic Writing and Culture, Victorian Gothic, Ghost Stories, Theories of the Uncanny, and Post-Apocalyptic Fiction.
