Richard Stark is an Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Monash University and Deputy Director of Neurology at Alfred Health. He holds leadership roles in the World Federation of Neurologists, Australian & New Zealand Headache Association, and other professional bodies. His clinical expertise includes neurology, headache, and migraine management. He has served as a Visiting Neurologist at Alfred and Caulfield Hospitals since 1984 and 1982, respectively.
Professor Stark’s research focuses on neurological disorders, headache treatments, and global health initiatives. He contributed to the Australian Prescriber journal on cluster headaches and has published extensively on migraine medications and clinical management strategies.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (1982) and a Life Member (2020). Notably, he received the Queen’s Birthday Honours (AM) in 2019 for his contributions to neurology. Stark teaches medical students at Monash University and contributes to postgraduate occupational medicine programs.
