Richard Mingus is a sessional instructor of French horn at Trinity Western University (TWU) since 2007 and teaches at the University of British Columbia (UBC), where he leads a Horn Ensemble Class. He holds the position of First Assistant Horn with the Vancouver Symphony since 1983 and actively participates in freelance recordings for films/TV and chamber music groups. His career spans roles as Principal Horn in the Calgary Philharmonic (1974–1979) and Maracaibo Symphony Orchestra (Venezuela), with extensive experience in orchestral performances across North America.
