Richard Lasky is a Teaching Professor at New York University's College of Arts & Science. He holds a B.A. from Long Island University (1968) and a Ph.D. from New York University (1971). His research focuses on psychoanalytic process using audio-taped analyses.
His work spans topics such as countertransference, ego and superego dynamics, narcissism, and violence in therapeutic contexts. He has collaborated extensively with Norbert Freedman and others, contributing to advancements in psychoanalytic methodology and theory.
Between 2002 and 2012, his publications explored psychoanalytic process, countertransference, symbolic transformation, and therapeutic interventions in violence. These works reflect interdisciplinary engagement with clinical psychology, behavioral science, and gender studies.
