Richard Ireland is a Professor at the Royal Academy of Music and one of the UK's leading chamber musicians. With 25 years of conservatoire-level teaching experience, his former students hold principal positions in major European orchestras and ensembles. He regularly performs at prestigious venues including London's Wigmore Hall.
His expertise focuses on violin performance, chamber music interpretation, and artist development. He serves as visiting professor for chamber music programs at Snape Maltings and the Netherlands String Quartet Academy.
Ireland received the 2014 Cobbett Medal from the Worshipful Company of Musicians for his teaching and establishment of ChamberStudio. In 2017, he was made an Honorary Associate of the Royal Academy of Music.
He founded ChamberStudio in 2010, providing advanced coaching to emerging professional chamber groups, and later established Offstage for post-study performer mentorship.
