Mia Cooper

Mia Cooper is a Professor of Violin at the Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) and Leader of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra since 2006. She holds advanced training from the Royal Northern College of Music and the Paris Conservatoire under Yossi Zivoni and Michel Strauss. Her career spans orchestral leadership roles with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and BBC National Orchestra of Wales, alongside chamber music collaborations with ensembles like the Fibonacci Sequence and Gould Piano Trio.

Cooper is an active educator, delivering masterclasses across Europe through Erasmus programs and mentoring emerging musicians in Ireland. Her artistic work spans solo performances, quartet leadership in the Esposito Quartet, and radio broadcast tours.
