Professor Richard Cooke leads health psychology research at Staffordshire University, examining psychological predictors of alcohol consumption and developing theory-based behavioral interventions. His work applies the Theory of Planned Behaviour to understand drinking patterns across cultures while designing public health strategies for responsible alcohol use.
Current projects investigate framing effects in alcohol policy communication and cross-cultural differences in binge drinking determinants. Cooke collaborates internationally through the Global Drug Survey consortium to analyze drinking behaviors across 17 countries.
