Richard Blumenthal serves as Professor and Chair of the Computer and Cyber Sciences Department in Regis University's Anderson College of Business and Computing. With prior research experience at AT&T Bell Laboratories and US West Advanced Technologies, he has developed workflow systems and e-commerce applications for software startups throughout his career.
He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado Boulder, where his doctoral research focused on workflow technology for supporting unstructured activities.
Dr. Blumenthal's current research centers on Intelligent Tutoring Systems within Artificial Intelligence and Computing for Social Good in Education (CSGEd), emphasizing educational technology applications. He actively shapes global computer science education standards through his membership on the CS202X Steering Committee.
His professional leadership includes executive board positions for ACM's Committee on Professional Ethics (COPE) and Special Interest Group on Computers and Society (SIGCAS), alongside serving as Editor-in-Chief of ACM Computers and Society publication.
