Richard Barrett is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Mount Mercy University. He joined the institution in 2016 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to his current rank in 2021. His teaching and research span American politics, comparative politics, international relations, law, and political theory.

He speaks French, reads ancient Greek, and has knowledge of Georgian, Malinke, and Khmer languages.
