Ricardo Arturo Rojas Aedo

Ricardo Arturo Rojas Aedo is a Researcher at IMDEA Nanoscience working in the Ultrafast Science of Quantum Materials Group since March 2024.

His academic background includes:

• Master's studies at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he co-developed the only non-interferometric FROG-based system capable of analytically reconstructing femtosecond laser pulses.
• PhD research at the University of Luxembourg, where he co-established the ultrafast condensed matter physics laboratory and developed tunable pulse systems spanning 400-1600nm wavelengths, tens of THz, and few THz ranges, alongside conducting pump-probe experiments on semiconductors.

His research focuses on advancing ultrafast spectroscopy techniques for quantum material characterization, with expertise in femtosecond pulse generation, spectral tuning, and non-linear optical measurement systems. He specializes in developing analytical reconstruction methods and experimental setups for studying light-matter interactions in condensed matter systems, particularly targeting semiconductor dynamics and quantum phenomena.
