Christopher Stanton

Dr. Christopher Stanton is a Professor of Physics at the University of Florida specializing in condensed matter theory and ultrafast spectroscopy. He leads research on carrier dynamics in semiconductors and nanostructures at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory.

Research explores coherent phonon generation, THz radiation mechanisms, and quantum confinement effects in 2D materials and heterostructures. Recent publications demonstrate advances in time-resolved spectroscopy of perovskites, graphene, and magnetic semiconductors.

He mentors graduate students researching magneto-optical properties of quantum materials and teaches quantum mechanics courses. Laboratory facilities include ultrafast optical spectroscopy systems for studying carrier-phonon interactions.
