Ric Solís

Ric Solís is an Associate Professor at Augusta University's Medical College of Georgia, affiliated with both the Department of Emergency Medicine and the Center for Telehealth. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine (2008) and completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Georgia (2011). A board-certified emergency medicine physician with certifications in Emergency Medical Services, Advanced Emergency Ultrasound, and advanced life support, Solís has held leadership roles including Vice-Chair of Emergency Medicine at Huntsville Hospital System and Medical Director for multiple EMS education programs.

His research focuses on Telemedicine, Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS), and EMS education. He pioneered a FOAMed-based airway management curriculum and developed Georgia’s first Hospital-at-Home program. His work emphasizes rural emergency medicine and international medical training, particularly in Latin America.

Scientific contributions include a 2011 study on hemostatic gauze dressings in trauma care. Awards include multiple Outstanding Alumni honors from Calhoun Community College and Augusta University’s Teaching Excellence Program Award. Active in professional service, he serves as Secretary for the National Association of EMS Physicians and as a Tele-educator for Augusta University’s Center for Telehealth.
