Reza Ghaffari

Dr. Reza Ghaffari is an Adjunct Professor at The Citadel's Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences, along with affiliations at Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland Global Campus, and George Washington University. He holds a Doctor of Engineering from George Washington University and advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering and National Security Strategy from The Citadel and other institutions.

His research focuses on cybersecurity risk assessment, cyber resilience, aerospace security, and national defense strategies. He has led cybersecurity initiatives for the U.S. Department of Defense and Fortune 500 companies, including Northrop Grumman and General Electric.

Dr. Ghaffari is a retired U.S. Navy Captain with 30 years of service, including deployments to Afghanistan and leadership roles in aviation cybersecurity and operational risk assessment. He co-authored Survival in Space Book, addressing robotics and cybersecurity in space systems.
