Dr. Reva Mathieu-Sher is an Assistant Professor of Special Education at Duquesne University's Department of Educational Foundations & Leadership, located in Canevin Hall. She holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of New England, an M.Ed. in Special Education from the University of Maine, and dual B.A. degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Maine.
Her professional experience includes roles as a school superintendent, principal, special education director, and special education teacher (Pre-K-12). She maintains active Maine State educational licensures in these roles and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Previously, she worked as an adjunct professor at Clarion University.
Dr. Mathieu-Sher's research focuses on supporting educators and administrators working with students diagnosed with ASD/EBD exhibiting challenging behaviors. She emphasizes ethical ABA practices and reading interventions for neurodivergent students. She coordinates special education field experiences and practicum placements at Duquesne and advises the Council for Exceptional Children's student club.
