About
Prof. Dr. Renée Lampe is a Professor at the Technische Universität München (TUM) and holds the Markus Würth Foundation Professorship for Cerebral Palsy. She is a senior physician at the Department of Orthopedics and Sports Orthopedics at TUM Klinikum rechts der Isar and leads the research unit of the Buhl-Strohmaier Foundation for Cerebral Palsy and Pediatric Neuroorthopedics. Her work focuses on clinical and basic research for individuals with disabilities, particularly cerebral palsy, leveraging technological advancements and mathematical models to enhance neuroplasticity and sensorimotor function. She has pioneered studies on cerebral blood flow simulation and neonatal biomarker analysis.
- Education: Medicine studies at Heidelberg and Mannheim Universities; orthopedics residency at LMU Munich.
- Habilitation: Supported by TUM Women's Advancement Program Scholarship.
Research Interests: Combines clinical practice with advanced computational methods to address neurological and orthopedic challenges. Key areas include cerebral hemorrhage prediction in preterm infants, scoliosis imaging innovations, and non-invasive biomarker detection via infrared spectroscopy. These efforts aim to improve diagnostic accuracy and reduce radiation exposure in pediatric care.
Publications: Recent work spans cerebral blood flow modeling (2024), neonatal biomarker analysis (2024), and scoliosis imaging techniques (2023-2020). These studies reflect her dual focus on translational research and clinical technology integration.
- Awards: Pure Life Award (2017), Gips-Schüle Social Innovation Award (2015), TUM Idea Award (2015), Federal Cross of Merit (2012).
Lab & Teams: Leads the Buhl-Strohmaier Foundation research unit, collaborating on interdisciplinary projects merging engineering, neuroscience, and orthopedics to advance pediatric care.
