Prof. Dr. Julia Hauer is a Professor of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), leading the Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at the München Klinik and Klinikum rechts der Isar. She holds a dual affiliation with the TUM School of Medicine and Health. Her career includes professorships at TU Dresden and Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, where she specialized in pediatric hematology/oncology and completed habilitation. She completed her medical studies at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, with postdoctoral research at Hôpital Necker in Paris.
Her research focuses on genetic predisposition to childhood cancers (especially acute leukemias), environmental influences, and immune modulation for cancer prevention. She investigates new therapeutic strategies and translates scientific findings into clinical practice.
