Renée Gordon is a Teaching Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of New Brunswick (UNB). She holds offices in Clinical Resource Strategist Education, Canadian Certified Simulation Nurse Educator (CCSNE), and other certifications. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes fostering praxis and critical thinking in students through innovation. She began teaching undergraduate nursing in 2014 at UNB’s Saint John campus, moved to Moncton in 2017, earned early tenure in 2020, and was promoted to Teaching Professor in 2022.
Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Lakehead University), Master of Science in Global Health (McMaster University), and a PhD candidacy in Nursing at Queen’s University, focusing on metabolic health interventions for type 2 diabetes. She holds a Diploma in University Teaching from UNB.
Research interests span teaching innovation, immersive VR simulation, and clinical delivery models. Her PhD research examines low-carbohydrate and intermittent fasting diets for metabolic health in diabetic patients.
Notable awards include the New Brunswick Nursing Award (2023), Albert and Anne Francis Foundation Graduate Award (2023), and Teaching Innovation Award (2021). She actively serves on UNB committees such as Senate Technology Services, Nursing Simulation Strategy (intercampus), and Nursing Curriculum.
