Renae Kirkham

Renae Kirkham is the Partnership Lead at the Menzies School of Health Research, specializing in Wellbeing and Preventable Chronic Disease. Her work focuses on addressing diabetes and health disparities among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations in Australia.

Research Interests: Diabetes prevention and management, particularly in Indigenous communities; healthcare system interventions; and social determinants of health. She emphasizes culturally appropriate strategies and co-design approaches in her projects.

Advising: Supervises postgraduate research, including HDR projects led by E. Weaver and M. Carino. Projects include exploring type 2 diabetes management strategies and social wellbeing initiatives.

Collaborations: Engages in interdisciplinary teams with institutions across Australia and Canada, focusing on remote health challenges and systemic healthcare barriers.
