About
Regine Rapp is a Visiting Professor for Art & Science at Kunstakademie Münster (Münster Art Academy) since March 2024, and co-director of Art Laboratory Berlin which she co-founded in 2006. Her academic work bridges contemporary art with science and technology, focusing on interdisciplinary practices that challenge anthropocentric perspectives.
Her research interests center on Hybrid Art Histories, exploring intersections between art, science and technology. She investigates Nonhuman Subjectivities, Biopolitics, and Care Practices in contemporary art, with particular focus on ecological crisis, symbiotic relations, and more-than-human alliances. Her work often examines how artistic practices can transform scientific methodologies and vice versa.
Rapp's recent publications and conference organization reveal a strong focus on ecological mega-crisis, nonhuman agency, and the biological sublime in art. She has curated numerous international interdisciplinary conferences including 'Nonhuman Agents,' 'Under the Viral Shadow,' and 'Hackers, Makers, Thinkers,' examining how artistic research intersects with scientific inquiry.
