Regina Therese Riphahn

Regina Therese Riphahn is a Full Professor at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, holding the Chair for Statistics and Empirical Economics since 2005. She has held academic positions at the University of Basel (Switzerland), University of Mainz (Germany), and University of Munich (Germany). She is a fellow of IZA and Cesifo, and serves on numerous scientific advisory councils, including the German Federal Ministry of Economics, DIW Berlin, and RWI Essen.

• Educated across Germany, the UK, and the US, with an MBA (University of Tennessee, 1990) and PhD in Economics (University of North Carolina, 1995).
• Recipient of the Felix Büchel Award (2006) and elected to the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina (2007) and Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities (2018).

Research Focus: Her work spans Social Policy, Population Economics, Economics of Education, and Applied Microeconometrics, often addressing labor markets, education, and demographic policy. She has published in top journals like the Journal of the European Economic Association and Journal of Human Resources.
