Prof. Regina T. Riphahn holds the Chair of Statistics and Empirical Economic Research at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) since 2005. She is a prominent figure in German economics, serving as Vice President of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and Chair of the German Association for Social Policy (Verein für Socialpolitik) for 2023/24.
Her academic background includes studies at the Universities of Cologne, Bonn, Sussex (UK), Tennessee (USA), and North Carolina (USA), with an MBA in 1990, PhD in economics in 1995, and habilitation at the University of Munich in 1999. Prior to FAU, she held professorships at the Universities of Mainz and Basel (Switzerland).
