Redouane Djamouri

Redouane Djamouri is a Research Professor at CNRS, affiliated with the Centre for Linguistic Research on East Asia (CRLAO) at EHESS. His work focuses on historical linguistics, Sino-Tibetan languages, and grammaticalization in Chinese and East Asian contexts. He has led ANR programs on language contact and contributed extensively to interdisciplinary studies in Chinese linguistics.

His research explores diachronic syntax, prepositions in archaic Chinese, and the evolution of grammatical structures through language contact. He has co-authored key studies on Tangwang dialects, Sino-Tibetan typology, and the articulation of disharmony in Mandarin syntax. His publications span comparative linguistics, East Asian language evolution, and theoretical syntax.

Djamouri has collaborated with leading scholars like Waltraud Paul and Alain Peyraube, addressing topics such as verb suffixes, object pronouns, and grammaticalization processes. His work is deeply rooted in the study of East Asian language families, emphasizing syntactic and morphological changes through historical and cross-linguistic lenses.
