Rebbeca Tesfai

Rebbeca Tesfai is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Temple University. Her research examines the economic, political and residential incorporation of black immigrants over time and across geographical contexts.

Research Focus: Using quantitative methods, she investigates whether black immigrants attain model minority status or experience racial discrimination leading to outcomes similar to native-born black populations. Her current work employs cross-national comparative research to test theoretical assumptions about immigrant incorporation.

Methodology: Her research analyzes occupational patterns, wage disparities, voting behavior, housing access, and residential segregation to understand racial stratification mechanisms in immigrant communities.
