About
Raymond Moellering is a Professor in the Department of Biosciences at the University of Chicago. He co-directs the Moellering Laboratory of Chemical Biology, which bridges the physical and biological sciences through interdisciplinary research. The lab focuses on developing chemical tools and proteomic platforms to study protein signaling and metabolic dysregulation in diseases like diabetes and cancer.
Research Interests:
- Chemical proteomics
- Top-down proteomic profiling
- Metabolic signaling
- Hyperstable biologic synthesis
Awards:
- Sloan Fellow (2020)
- NSF CAREER Award (2019)
The lab integrates chemistry, biochemistry, and mass spectrometry to discover novel biological mechanisms. Recent work includes light-activated proximity profiling methods for mapping protein interactions in cellular environments.
