Raymond Da Silva Rosa

Raymond Da Silva Rosa is a Winthrop Professor of Finance at the UWA Business School, University of Western Australia. He holds leadership roles including membership in UWA's Senate, Academic Council, and Editorial Boards of Accounting and Finance and Australian Journal of Management. Previously, he served as President of the UWA Academic Staff Association and the Accounting & Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ). His academic journey includes teaching at NYU Stern School of Business and Melbourne Business School.

He holds a PhD from the University of Western Australia and a Bachelor of Commerce. His research focuses on corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, behavioral finance, and director networks. Notable projects include examining voting methods in annual general meetings, minority shareholder protections under the 'two-strikes' rule, and capital raising strategies for micro-cap firms. He has advised on over 11 legal cases involving corporate takeovers and director remuneration disputes.

Dr. Rosa has secured over $700,000 in research grants from bodies like the Australian Research Council (ARC) and Colonial First State. His work includes analyzing takeover bid impacts, director roles in corporate control contests, and the role of networks in venture capital funding. Current projects explore director market dynamics and investment behavior post-natural disasters.
