About
Dr. Ravichandran Rajkumar is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine (INM-4) within Forschungszentrum Jülich, specializing in multimodal neuroimaging techniques such as PET/MR/EEG. His work focuses on understanding neurobiological mechanisms underlying psychiatric and neurological disorders using advanced imaging modalities. He holds expertise in fMRI, MRS, and EEG signal processing, with a particular interest in brain network dynamics and biomarker development for precision psychiatry. Dr. Rajkumar’s research bridges clinical neuroscience and engineering, emphasizing the integration of trimodal imaging approaches (PET-MRI-EEG) to study conditions like depression, schizophrenia, epilepsy, and Tourette syndrome.
His research interests include:
- High-field (7T) neuroimaging for mental health diagnostics
- Functional connectivity analysis in resting-state networks
- EEG microstate dynamics and their clinical implications
- PET/MR fusion imaging for receptor-specific biomarkers
- Neurochemical correlates of cognitive performance
Dr. Rajkumar has contributed to the development of the TRIMAGE trimodal imaging platform for schizophrenia studies and has explored novel biomarkers using radiomics approaches. His work emphasizes translational applications of neuroimaging in precision medicine, particularly in predicting disease severity and resilience factors.
