Rasmus T Slaattelid is a Professor and Head of Department at the Centre for the Study of the Sciences and the Humanities (SVT) at the University of Bergen. His research focuses on science policy, innovation governance, ethics, and interdisciplinary studies of moral philosophy and philosophy of science. He has led projects examining territorial innovation governance, responsible research and innovation (RRI), and the co-production of climate services. His work often bridges social sciences and humanities, addressing challenges in policy translation and ethical frameworks.
Key publications include the 2023 monograph Translations of Responsibility: Innovation Governance in Three European Regions and articles on governance challenges in innovation, moral autonomy, and Donald Davidson's philosophy. He supervises doctoral research, such as Henrik Berg’s thesis on evidence-based practice in psychology.
Teaching includes courses on theory of science and ethics across faculties (Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Psychology). He leads research groups like CoPol (Covid-19 contact tracing politics) and Theory of Science. Active in academic events, he organized the SVT anniversary seminar and SDG Conference Bergen 2022.
