Rajan Sharma

Rajan Sharma is a Research Fellow at the Macquarie University Centre for the Health Economy (MUCHE), affiliated with the Macquarie Business School. He holds a PhD in Health Economics from Macquarie University (2016–2019) and has prior experience as a data manager at the Spinal Centre of Southern Denmark and an Instructor in Economic Evaluation at the University of Southern Denmark. His expertise includes economic modeling, health technology assessment, and statistical analysis of healthcare programs using real-world data.

Education: PhD in Health Economics (Macquarie University, 2019), MSc in Public Health (Danish State Scholarship recipient, 2012).

Research focuses on cost-effectiveness analyses, healthcare policy evaluation, and systematic reviews in areas like prostate cancer diagnostics, cochlear implants, and newborn screening programs. He has presented work at conferences such as the Australian Health Economics Society and Nordic Health Economic Study Group.

Awards include the 2022 Macquarie Business School Impact Competition and the International Macquarie University Research Excellence Award for his PhD. He actively participates in academic committees, including the ISPOR Sydney Student and ECR Chapter.
