Rael Cahn

Rael Cahn, MD, PhD is Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at USC's Keck School of Medicine, affiliated with the Brain and Creativity Institute. His research investigates neurophysiological mechanisms of contemplative practices using EEG, fMRI, and biomarker analysis across healthy and clinical populations.

Research focuses:

• Psychedelic-assisted therapy for PTSD
• BDNF and inflammatory responses to meditation
• Gamma oscillations during advanced meditation
• Neurocardiac mechanisms of compassion practices

Dr. Cahn teaches mindfulness to medical professionals and has published on meditation-induced neuroplasticity. His work integrates clinical psychiatry with neuroscientific investigation of consciousness states.
