Rachele Marconi

Rachele Marconi is a Lecturer in International Law at the Department of Humanities, University of Macerata, and a Research Fellow at the Dirpolis Institute of Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa. She holds a PhD in International Law (IUS/13) from the University of Macerata, with a dissertation on gender perspectives in interpreting IHL norms regarding violence against women in armed conflicts.

• Visiting Fellow at Max-Planck-Institut Heidelberg, Université Paris 1, and University of Sarajevo
• Member of the Italian Society of International Law (SIDI) since 2017

Her research focuses on gender-sensitive interpretations of international law, with particular attention to women's rights in armed conflict, colonial responsibility, and reproductive rights. Recent publications analyze jurisdictional allocation for international crimes, evolutive treaty interpretation, and post-colonial justice mechanisms.

Scientific production spans 2021-2024, including articles in International and Comparative Law Quarterly, Italian Yearbook of International Law, and chapters in edited volumes addressing topics like the Istanbul Convention, climate migration, and international criminal accountability.
