Rachel Welton is a Senior Lecturer in Tourism and International Business at the Department of Marketing, Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University, where she joined in 2003. She currently serves as Deputy Head of Undergraduate Programmes and Secretarial Chair of the United Nations PRME working group on climate change and environment, while also acting as University Verifier and External Examiner for collaborative partners.
Her research centers on sustainable tourism and climate change adaptation in tourism destinations, informed by her PhD work. She has conducted EU-funded research on cultural heritage and leads initiatives in carbon literacy training, notably collaborating with the UK television soap 'Coronation Street' to develop a PRME Champions Project for Business Schools.

Rachel supervises doctoral and undergraduate students while managing a team of marketing lecturers. Her consultancy in corporate social responsibility and business ethics directly informs teaching, where she integrates sustainability projects into curricula.
