Rachel Ho

Rachel Ho is an Instructor in Professional Integration at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore. She specializes in flute performance, community music engagement, and early music. Her roles include soloist, chamber musician, and educator, with affiliations to orchestras like the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra and ensembles such as Red Dot Baroque and Flying Flutes.

Education:

• Bachelor of Music (Flute Performance) from YST Conservatory, graduating as valedictorian with a full scholarship. Studied under Jin Ta, Evgueni Brokmiller, and Dr. Cheryl Lim.
• Exchange Semester at Peabody Conservatory studying modern and baroque flute.
• Masters in Music Education at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague under Wieke Karsten and Kate Clark.

Research & Community Work: Rachel focuses on music's impact in healthcare and community settings, curating performances and workshops in hospitals, dementia care centers, and refugee camps across Asia, Europe, and the U.S. Notable projects include the Music for Life workshops in the Netherlands and the inter-generational A Golden Tale project presented at YST's 2019 symposium.

Honors: Awardee of the YST Concerto Competition, Global Leaders Programme participant, and recognized in the Southeast Asian Music Leaders 30 Under 30. She has also been a Festival Artist in Myanmar and Shanghai.

Leadership & Grants: Engaged in training programs like Musician Without Borders' refugee music leadership course. Her work bridges artistic performance with social impact through initiatives like Superhero Me and Believe in Tomorrow Children’s Home collaborations.

Labs/Teams: Active with Red Dot Baroque (Early Music ensemble) and the Flying Flutes quartet, alongside leadership roles in Singapore’s music education and community outreach sectors.
