Rachel Griffith is a Professor at the University of Manchester since 2010 and Deputy Research Director at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, London since 2006. She previously served as Professor at University College London (2007-2010) and Reader at the same institution (2003-2007).
Her research interests focus on Microeconometrics, Industrial organisation, Public economics, and Productivity. Griffith has made significant contributions to economic policy analysis, particularly in the areas of food markets, nutrition, and public policy evaluation.
Among her notable achievements are being awarded the Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in 2015 and receiving the Birgit Grodal Award from the European Economic Association in 2014. She served as President of the European Economic Association in 2015 after being elected in 2013.
