Qimin Huang is Assistant Professor of Statistical & Data Sciences and Mathematics at the College of Wooster. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Miami and specializes in mathematical modeling of biological systems, particularly infectious disease transmission dynamics and control strategies. Her research employs differential equations, statistical analysis, and scientific computing methods.
Professor Huang has collaborated with medical and public health institutions on projects addressing COVID-19, antimicrobial resistance, schistosomiasis, and vaccine strategies. Her work combines theoretical modeling with real-world data analysis to inform public health interventions.
Her recent publications focus on disease transmission mechanisms, optimization of control measures, and application of Bayesian methods to epidemiological problems. Current courses include Linear Algebra, Math in Contemporary Society, and Applied Integral Calculus.
