Pui Yee Tan

Dr. Pui Yee Tan is a Research Fellow at the School of Food Science and Nutrition, University of Leeds, specializing in public health nutrition with a focus on the triple burden of malnutrition in Southeast Asia (SEA).

• Coexistence of undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and overnutrition in SEA
• Analyzes national nutrition survey data from Vietnam, Cambodia, and Malaysia
• Develops scalable food system interventions and school nutrition policy frameworks
• Collaborates with local researchers and governments in SEA countries
• Organized online workshops involving ~50 SEA stakeholders to address childhood malnutrition

Her work builds on a BBSRC GCRF-funded project examining malnutrition in China, expanded to SEA for knowledge transfer and capacity building.
