Priyangi Bulathsinhala is an Associate Teaching Professor of Statistics at the Department of Statistics, Pennsylvania State University, and serves as Chair of Undergraduate Advising. She holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Southern Methodist University (2016), an M.Sc. in Statistics from the University of Texas at El Paso (2011), and a B.Sc. in Statistics from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka (2008).
Her research focuses on spatial methods for analyzing functional connectivity in fMRI data, statistical methodologies for environmental health studies, and educational statistics. She collaborates on projects assessing student attitudes in online graduate statistics courses and determining fossilized eggshell origins through statistical analysis.
In addition to teaching, Bulathsinhala advises undergraduate Statistics majors, contributes to the ECoS Climate and Diversity Committee, and reviews for the American Journal of Distance Education. Her honors include the 2019/2020 Schreyer Institute Teaching and Learning Scholarship Grant and recognition as an Outstanding Graduate Student in Statistics (2011).
Her teaching portfolio includes courses such as STAT 500 (Applied Statistics), STAT 501 (Regression Methods), and STAT 415 (Introduction to Mathematical Statistics). She actively engages in grant-funded research and interdisciplinary collaborations.
