Priya Sajjad

Dr. Priya Sajjad is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Anthropology and Mental Health Research in Action (CAMHRA) within SOAS University of London. Her work bridges anthropology with mental health and disaster response, focusing on structural inequalities in public health crises.

Her research explores how class, gender, and ethnic marginalization intersect to shape pandemic experiences, particularly during the Covid-19 crisis in Pakistan. She employs ethnographic methods to critique state-led interventions and advocate for equitable health policies.

Dr. Sajjad collaborates with community organizations, local authorities, and NHS mental health services through CAMHRA's Policy and Partnerships team, co-designing projects to address mental health inequalities in London.
