Dr. Prabu David serves as the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), overseeing 11 colleges and 5 international campuses. His leadership focuses on fostering institutional community and belonging, advancing AI integration into academia, and implementing a new budget model. Previously, he held academic leadership roles including Dean of the College of Communication at Michigan State University, where he enhanced research, curriculum, and diversity initiatives. He earned a BSc in Physics from Loyola College (India), an MA in Journalism from Ohio University, and a PhD in Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. His research explores ethical AI, algorithmic bias, and technology governance, with recent work analyzing facial recognition systems and public trust in AI.
