Pontus Johansson

Pontus Johansson is a Lecturer at the Design Unit within the University of Gothenburg. He holds a master's degree from the Child Culture Design program and has been actively involved in project-based teaching since 2015, emphasizing collaboration with municipalities, institutions, and other educational entities across Sweden, Poland, and Kiruna.

His research interests center on participatory design, sustainability, and the relationship between humans and nature. He advocates for starting with small, overlooked details to develop comprehensive projects, currently working on urban development initiatives in Örebro, a design project in Kungsbacka, and the cross-institutional Plastic Perspectives project with Lund University researchers.

Publications & Projects reflect his engagement with public space interventions, including Common Ground (2024) presented at multiple international design events, Den Barnkonventionella Lekplatsen (2024) focusing on child-friendly urban spaces, and earlier works like A Formidable Mishap (2017) exploring creative processes through archival materials.
