Polina Mackay

Polina Mackay is a researcher at the University of Cyprus, affiliated with the Department of Languages and Literature. Her work spans interdisciplinary fields including literary theory, cultural studies, and health communication.

• Research Focus: Modernist and postcolonial literature, political novels in Europe, health literacy in Cypriot medical contexts, and digital humanities explorations of social media poetry.
• Current Project: Co-Principal Investigator for CAPONEU: The Cartography of the Political Novel in Europe (2023–2026), mapping intersections of local and international politics in European literature.
• Publications: Recent works examine Indigenous narrative strategies, linguistic approaches to cancer communication, the cultural history of hypnosis in media, and the evolution of instapoetry from pre-digital aphorisms.
