Dr. Sookyoung Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at St. Lawrence University. She holds a PhD from UC Berkeley and a BA from Swarthmore College. Her academic focus bridges modernist literature, critical theory, and postcolonial perspectives, with a current book project exploring linguistic transformations within the British Empire.
Her research examines 20th-century Anglophone literature through interdisciplinary lenses, including:
- Modernist narrative structures and theoretical frameworks
- Queer theory applications in epic literature
- Postcolonial film and mass cultural development
- Political economy in Victorian and mid-century fiction
