About
Pippa Moore is a Former Research Fellow at the University of Queensland node of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies. Her work focuses on understanding coral reef ecosystems' response to climate change, leveraging paleoecological data to predict future resilience. She holds a PhD in Marine Biology (2005) from the University of Plymouth, conducted jointly with the Marine Biological Association of the U.K.
Research interests include community ecology, anthropogenic impacts on marine species, and the interplay between coral reef dynamics and human well-being. Her recent studies examine historical climate effects on coralline algae and the socioeconomic vulnerabilities of tropical fisheries under climate change.
Publications highlight innovative uses of DNA analysis to trace coral adaptation and interdisciplinary approaches to climate justice in vulnerable communities. Pippa has transitioned back to the United Kingdom after 13 years there before joining the Centre.
