Piotr Binder is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, affiliated with the School of Social Sciences and the Department of Sociology. He is a member of the Research Team in Sociology and Cultural Anthropology and actively contributes to academic communities as a member of the Polish Sociological Association (PTS) and the European Sociological Association (ESA).

As a reviewer, he contributes to the Polish Sociological Review, Qualitative Sociology Review, and Kultura i Społeczeństwo. He teaches courses on Qualitative Research Methods and Qualitative Data Analysis with MAXQDA at the Graduate School for Social Research.
For popular science engagement, he participated in a panel discussion "Model pracy" at the Warsaw City and World Urban Forum conference (18.05.2022) and delivered a lecture on remote work's societal impacts at the Warsaw Science Festival (24.09.2022).
