Piers Daubeney

Dr. Piers Daubeney is a Professor of Practice in Paediatric Cardiology at the National Heart & Lung Institute (NHLI), Imperial College London, and a Consultant Paediatric and Fetal Cardiologist at Royal Brompton Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and Maidstone Hospital. His clinical and research expertise focuses on congenital heart disease, cardiomyopathy, and drug trials in paediatric cardiology.

Education: Trained at Oxford University and St Thomas' Hospitals, with postgraduate training at Wessex Cardiovascular Centre (UK), Royal Children's Hospital (Melbourne), and Hospital for Sick Children (Toronto).

Research interests include epidemiology and management of congenital heart defects, childhood cardiomyopathy, and novel therapeutics. He leads international multicenter studies such as the UK/Ireland Study of Pulmonary Atresia and the National Australian Childhood Cardiomyopathy Study.

He co-authored the textbook Diagnosis and Management of Adult Congential Heart Disease (4th ed.), widely translated. His lab focuses on genetic and imaging techniques for congenital heart disease.

Grants and Advising: Active in pediatric drug trials; mentors postgraduate research fellows pursuing higher qualifications.
