Pia Sommerauer

Dr. Pia Sommerauer is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, affiliated with the Network Institute. Her research focuses on computational linguistics, semantic representation, and natural language processing. She contributes to projects such as the 'Dutch Framenet' corpus and studies biased language use in natural language systems.

Her work integrates modern linguistic theories with computational methods, addressing challenges like event framing, word embedding analysis, and narrative reconstruction. She teaches courses including Programming in Python for Text Analysis and Advanced NLP.
