Philippe Cardon is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Lille, affiliated with the Department of Social Sciences under the Faculty of Economic, Social and Territorial Sciences. He is a member of the CERIES laboratory (Research Center for Individuals, Tests, Society) and an associated member of the ALISS laboratory (Alimentation and Social Sciences) at INRA/Ivry.
His research focuses on the sociology of food and agriculture, analyzed through the lenses of family sociology, gender studies, life course analysis, public policy, and knowledge transmission. Current projects investigate transformations in elderly nutrition and the impact of public policies on dietary practices.

Philippe Cardon holds the HDR (Habilitation to Direct Research), enabling him to supervise doctoral work. His 2010 co-authored book Introduction to Sociological Inquiry with Raphaël Desanti is freely available in the "Les Classiques des sciences sociales" collection.
