Philipp Rausch

Philipp Rausch is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Clinical Molecular Biology (IKMB) within Kiel University, Germany. He is part of the Immunogenetics and Bioinformatics research group led by Professor Andre Franke, focusing on host-microbe interactions in gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases through advanced genomic and computational approaches.

His research spans microbiome analyses using amplicon and shotgun metagenomics, microbial and numerical ecology, and bioinformatics. He investigates host-microbe interactions in inflammatory contexts, particularly in Crohn's disease and inflammatory bowel disorders, with emphasis on gastrointestinal and respiratory systems. Dr. Rausch's 2022 publication in Arthritis Research & Therapy analyzed fecal and oral microbiota in chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis, demonstrating how multi-omics integration reveals microbial contributions to inflammatory bone disorders.
